what time to get to Queen Beatrix Airport on weekend?

I'm nervous, we have Saturday to Saturday travel coming up in April. We have not done weekend travel in Aruba before, only Friday or Wednesday. I'm hoping not to ruin a weeks worth of relaxation with airport stress.

We have a 3:50 flight. I am wondering if getting to the airport around noon is a good idea? I don't want to get there too early to get in line and cause problems or delays for the people who are departing earlier in the afternoon. I'm scared to mention this to my husband, he is always way too early for everything in life, he will want to be at the airport at 9am or earlier Our first time leaving Aruba we got there so early that the ticket agents for the airlines weren't there yet, then customs wasn't open yet.
Not sure when, but we will be back

my guess is sometime before 12:45

with the long lines at u.s. customs you need to plan on at least the usual 3 hrs

    things to do at airport

eat, drink, play in the slot parlors

Tracey...you are not alone I was so early departing a few years back same thing the ticket counter was not open yet! I cannot remember if this was a Saturday or a weekday but my hubby was not too happy I always prefer to be early and relax rather than stress. This way we can always stop at duty free with no rushing and get a seat at the airport bar for one or two last Brights!

On our honeymoon, we actually had some luck at the airport slots Didn't come close to breaking us even for the trip, but it did make waiting a little easier.

I liked that flight early to Miami we did it on our 2nd trip - that was the one when we got there too early. That last morning on the island is such a tease and I feel like we lose a day anyway, so I would almost rather get it over with and get to the airport. We chose a nonstop to DC option this time so we will be on United in the afternoon.
