    What is up with Prices

What is up with Prices for August they are over $250 more than last year?

Is this normal? This is from Boston...$650-$750 last year was below $500.

The prices are high because it's so far in advance. I find prices drop as departure date gets closer. I know this is true with JB and AA. Our JB tickets for late Jan. started out at $727 and dropped to $446 on Thanksgiving day.

I am finding the same thing for Late June/Early July out of Newark. It is very frustrating. Prices are up over $200pp from what we paid last year. I am hoping in the coming months the prices start to drop. I was booked in September '11 for June '12 last year.

The flights are virtually empty - so I am sure United will drop their prices at some point.

Agree - too far in advance!

We fly to Aruba twice a year (late April/early May and also in Sept.) on Delta. We never book the April/May trip until around Jan/Feb. and usually don't book the Sept. trip until around May. That's when the fares seem to drop for us anyway. We usually pay around $450-$480/person on Delta every year (MSP-ATL-AUA.)

I just checked our flexible dates for April/May and it's running about $595 right now. But again, too early for me to book - the fares always come down within the next couple of months.

Our favorite place on the island, is the great beach at the Boca Grandi. The water is the best, and its very quiet.

We're lucky because we're able to fly during the week and book our place to stay. We just booked our flights in March this past week-end. Round trip Boston-Aruba including fees and taxes under $1000 non stop. We usually are able to get about $100 in credits if the price goes down. We've been getting that price for about the last five years.
Hopefully you'll have good luck getting your tickets.

We normally see the prices drop into the 'acceptable' range approximately 90 days prior to travel date. Farecompare.com also makes that recommendation. Watched our fares trend in the unresonable level and the just like majic, they dropped on dec 1. 3 months out!

That's a great price. Sadly our circumstances don't allow us to travel mid-week so we pay a premium.
