Would you consider flying out of BDL (Hartford)? Not as far of a drive as NY and nice small airport. Just a suggestion. Good luck. Funny years ago I thought Boston had better prices than BDL but we never wanted to drive to Boston (even though only 1 1/2 hrs away), like you said most likely you are being charged due to the only direct flight option which is sad.

We bit the bullet this year and paid for JB non-stop from Boston again. It was 300+ more than last year for each of us..... on the plus side, 2 extra nights at Manchebo was the same cost as last year's 9 night stay! I will not fly connections if a non-stop is available. I don't like flying on any day.... even a good day!

.....So the money we didn't have to spend on the extra nights...... literally went 'up in the air' with airfare increases....!

I did actually actually look it up and would consider it for a BIG savings, lol. I appreciate everyone's help trying to give us some reasonable options that may work and not send me to the poor house again, lol.

Chuck, have you booked your summer trip yet? I was looking at prices but they are much higher than last year for the same dates so I am in wait and see mode on my end. I don't miss the days when it was just 2 air tickets to buy because I could deal with the cost regardless as it never became burdensome but with 3 tickets prices have approached 5k just for air and I am not okay with that, lol. I have my limits and they are being challenged these days with the air pricing out of Boston.

Yeah Jay, booked a coupla weeks ago.... just wanted to get it done.... June 29 - July 10. We're into the 'be on the island for the 4th' mode for some years now. I won't generally fly within a day or 2 of the 4th....... and this gave Patty a few days outta school to prep. With some of the alternate Caribbean destinations being in such bad shape, I did expect to pay more for Aruba this year. I'm also really fussy about where to sit on the plane and an early booking locked in our preferred 2C and 2D seats......

Nice score Marble especially the mint coming back!

If you're flying from Boston to Aruba on Jet Blue but a Yankee Fan, you will get the discount.

Isn't it easter in April? I looked up Boston to Aua 4/9 to 4/16 and it was $611 round trip per person because going is only $199. However, April 16 to April 23rd the fare jumps to $1,293..

Easter falls anywhere from late March to late April. In 2018 it will be on April 1st. I love it when Easter is early - that means we usually have most of April to find great deals on flights and hotels.
    ~Amy~ - 35th trip to Aruba: New Years Eve 2017/2018 -- South Beach, FL: Feb. 2018 -- Zihuatanejo, MX: March 2018 -- Sedona, AZ: April/May 2018 -- Ireland: June/July 2018 -- 36th trip to Aruba: Sept. 2018
