Buying boat for Aruba

Hello everyone,

This is my first post here... I may be a newbie to this forum, but not Aruba. My family has owned a home there since 1994. I travel there 2-3 times a year and my parents spend 3-6 months a year in Aruba.

For people with boating experience, what brand of boat would be best suited for Aruba? We are looking for a trailerable 20-24' family runabout or family friendly fishing boat. I prefer dual console. Would mainly be using it on the leeward side no more than 1-2 miles offshore. We were initially looking at Sea Doo sport boats but have been told that they ride very rough in those waters. Does anyone have any advice on this?

Thanks,
Peter

I would consider a Nautic Star deck boat.

Thanks... I hadn't looked at Nautic Star before... their 2000 OS looks like it would fit the bill. After doing some research... I have also been looking closely at Robalo, Pursuit, and Scout.

I'd stop by Zeerovers and talk to some of the guys there and over at the Marina behind the airport.

I like Grady White, Boston Whalers or a Parker...
