Having a baby in Aruba
My husband and I are moving to Aruba in July because of his work. I am pregnant now and the baby is due in September! That does not give us a lot of time to look for a doctor, a midwife, breastfeeding support and natural birth classes. If anybody has any useful information or can guide us in the right direction we would greatly appreciate it!

Mid-wives (so to speak) are excellent here and very highly qualified. Junior was delivered by one in the hospital and it was a marvelous thing. The care system is also very good in that they do good follow-up to assure that you and the baby are OK.
be well charles

Congrats on baby and moving
Hello Clar,
I think you did a great thing by staying in Virginia to have baby. No epidermal in Aruba. I have lived in Aruba for 15 years and rather not post on OBGYN , Midwife would of been the way to go but no experience as well. In Aruba we are in abundance with baby food, milk and all Gerber products. I was happy to know 10 years ago when my Dr. in Michigan told me that my son had to be on Good start and found that Aruba supermarkets carried it and I was blessed because it was so much cheaper than in USA. ![]() If you need anything at all please feel free to reach out and if that's Trina that I know who posted she also was new to Aruba and has changed to island life quite well. You will love paradise. Word of advice, put your baby in ocean as soon as possible and the baby will be a swimmer before you know it. Mine all swam by 15 months and are fish out of water.
