Talk to Land Sea Air in Aruba. I shipped my truck from Miami to Aruba and it arrived with not even dust on it. Of course, the import tax is something to consider, sometimes as high as 40% of the value.

I have noticed a few licence plates from continental US. What happens after one finally gets approved for residancy. I retire in the next few years, and will be applying for residancy. I heard it is time consuming and of course cars are another part of the equation
Thanks

Cosmo,

Residency in Aruba at this point is very, very time consuming and difficult.

Registering a car is much easier. I paid the fees, insurance, and got the plate all in the same day. Was a slow day at the office, still, went smoothly.

Thank you, yes I heard residancy can take several years. I am retiring in 2 years and will apply at that point, hoping to have it by the time my wife retires 6 years after me.

Thanks SanNic for the info on the car shipping. I talked to Jerry yesterday and he was really helpful. I have a call in to him with a question - whether we have to be physically there to accept delivery. If not, we'll have it come in the Wednesday before we get there (we get there on a Monday). Otherwise, we'll have to wait for it a couple of days. Linda
