Looking for Longterm Rental

I am a teacher moving to Aruba with my family of three at the end of July. Searching for longterm rentals while in the US has been difficult due to questionable accuracy of website information. Many sites list the same properties for different rates or one site shows a property as "rented" while another does not. We are open to a room-mate situation, though I know not many people are likely to want to live with a family of three. We want to save money so under $1000 US is desirable (even 1 bedroom would work) Any suggestions? Also, are there any general locations that would be less desirable with a toddler child?

Thanks Much!

arubahomeaway.com may have what you need.
their email and phone are above.

i am pretty certain you will find something in your range.
there is a nice area of the island..the name of the area/village is paradera.
i bet there's be some apartments of bunglaow homes available for you.

make sure that you ask about WATER bills and ELECTRIC bills.
both of those in aruba are very expensive!

You may want to rent an apt or book a timeshare unit for a week when you arrive - then you can actually go house shopping, see the houses/apt and the area. A week at a resort may cost you some $ but then you are here and may be able to negotiate a better deal on your long term rental.

Some other sites you might want to check out http://www.4salearuba.com, http://www.arubamatch.com or http://www.casnan.com these sites all list apt/house for rent. Does the school offer any kind of relocation service?

Long term rental

As a local, my suggestion to you is to google one of the local newspapers. diarioaruba, and go through their classifieds ads.
I would not rent a place whilst away, search for apartments online, and book a week stay. Once you are on the Island, it will be much easier to find a place, You can certainly find a comfortable home for $1000 monthly.
