Could you help my wife and I with the specifics of general availability of Nursing & Law Enforcement employment opportunities and what the average pay scale is for each? We do not necessarily want to surf through an employment site that seems to only cater to tourism jobs. We are both licensed / certified.

If you're not Aruban, it's not easy...
'POLICY ON EMPLOYING FOREIGNERS: It is the Aruban government's socio-economic policy not to grant working permits to a non-Aruban nationals UNLESS no Aruban is currently available to take on the post. If this is the case, a work permit may be granted BUT the employer MUST advertise the position every year until the foreign national can be replaced by an Aruban, meaning that your permit must be renewed and may be denied annually. This policy aims to limit unemployment for Arubans and is the exact same policy the American government has with regards to granting work based greencards. PLEASE NOTE: This policy applies to foreign nationals who are NOT born on Aruba, NOT the children of Aruban nationals, and/or NOT married to a Aruban OR if you are foreign national who has NOT been on the island for more than 5 years!' more at: http://www.aruba-bb.com/auxfiles/workinginaruba.html

I don't believe a non-native Aruban can own their own business. There may be a partnership, however, an Aruban would have to own the majority of the business.
