I speak from much experience with this one.....bring a RX with you for swimmers ear for your kids. Hopping in and out the ocean and pool all day has lead to many swimmers ear infections for my 2 kids. I bring a new, unopened RX and have it if i need it. Its saved 3 trips so far....I highly recommend doing this !

Tip of the day:
I always pack twice the amount of sunscreen that I think we will need. Would rather cart leftover home than have to apply sparingly to stretch OR have to pay Aruba prices for sunscreen.
A tip for kids, dd was breaking out in horrible rashes in the sun. Read an article that this is sometimes caused by the SPF of the sunscreen being TOO high. As skeptical as I was, we changed from SPF 48 to SPF 30, and no more rashes <<knock on wood>>.
My pediatrician told us to mix equal parts white vinegar and alcohol and place in a small dropper bottle. After swimming, dry ears and add a few drops to each ear. The alcohol helps dry the ear canal and the acid from the vinegar inhibits bacterial growth. It worked great for our family last summer!
Your "recipe" sounds great, and I have heard of it before from my pedatrician.... However, I would much rather carry a small dropper bottle in my carry on, than have to truck to the grocery store to get vinegar and alcohol while on vacation. Having it handy, is much easier for me and thats why I posted it here....

This formula has been saving vacations for me since I was born! My family has always gone to the beach each year and every night after showers and before dinner, everyone got the "drops"! They smell kind of funny, but it ended the problem of ear infections, even when we traveled to the brown ocean of the US east coast.

Tip of the day...mail delivery...now is the time to do it
For those of us who are heading out soon now is the time to put a hold on that mail. We have a psycho mail lady who decides when and if she will stop our mail. We now have to give her a week to finally figure it out. Maybe soon she will learn to close our mail box....After 5 yrs you would think she would get it.
To put her into perspective, she drives her truck into our trash cans in our culdesac if she doesn't like where they on on garbage days. I think she counts how many she can hit on Wednesdays and this is all thanks to the garbage guys who just toss them anywhere....

we usually stop our mail prior so that we know that the letter carrier is following the directive.

Gotta be the same driver of the mail delivery as the snow plow!!! I smell a conspiracy!
Our mail here in the middle of nowhere? We are lucky if they "remember" to follow the stop notice. If they do, then we have to call them to remind them the notice is over and start delivering the mail again.
But then again, we consider ourselves lucky when any of our mail actually reaches us or it arrives at it's destination in less than 3 weeks. That is no exaggeration. We may as well live at the North Pole.
