they cost MORE in aruba.

we had priced a pair a few yrs ago and they were significantly higher than in walmart or target or best buy here in the usa.

we did buy a pair of the 2 way radios at walmart and we can get a range of about 1.5 miles in aruba. (lacabana to madam janette and marriott hotel to the setar shop near the hyatt)

I just recently purchased a set of two-way radios from Amazon for $29.00. They claim to have a 20 mile range in optimal conditions. I have tried them around my area and I can get about a 10 mile range. I would be happy if I can get a 5 mile range in Aruba. I will let you know how they work in Aruba as I am leaving this Thursday.

The radios can be viewed here at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015571OW

Regards,

We took a pair of 2ways with us a couple of years ago. They worked okay, a little scratchy, but we found that we were together so much we ended up not really using them. If you happen to rent open air 4x4's and go out back, forget trying to use them, it is so windy you can't hear a thing on them.....

Aruba, my home away from home !!

Hi Retagger
It would be great if you can let us know what distance you manage to get.
we'll have our teenage kids with us.if they go on the beach or to refuel at the snack bar on their own we can easily find them.
thanks
