Balashi versus Heineken

OK, beer lovers....I saw a post that claimed that Balshi was better than Heineken. What's your opinion about that and what beer do you enjoy while in Aruba?

Cheers!

Balashi is VERY good.
Amstel BRIGHTS are very good too.

Better than Heineken?
Maybe.
You will have to do a taste test.

You can have Heineken at home. I think women like the light taste of Brights.

Guys....go for the Balashi! It's not the greatest, but you can't buy it at home.

Ladies....go for the Brights....can't buy those at home either.

But you can lug home as many as you can carry and are willing to pay duty on.

Like Rob said, "You can have Heineken at home."

I ration my Brights, so drink Corona Light at home. I find it to be the most similar.

Neither Balashi or Amstel Bright are available in the U.S. or via internet.

Musicman....Balashi is strong as is Heineken, so if you enjoy Heineken you will like Balashi..IMO only, you have to like strong beer to drink either...I love both..prefer balashi when in aruba though...never drink any light beer..kind of think it doesn't have much taste, but that may be because my Dh drinks Miller Light and I think it tastes like water....so don't go soley by my opinion....rush right over to your local international airport, jump on a plane, fly to aruba and have 10 or12 of each and then let us know what your answer is...

I've never had to pay duty on the Balashi I've taken home. Then again I've never taken more than a case home at any one time.

I've grown pretty fond of Landshark Lager when I'm home, though I think the lime is required with that.

Thanks everyone for your input. Much appreciated!

Danadog56.....Becks Dark is my beer of choice...a full bodied and flavorful German beer.
When I am at a restaurant that doesn't serve my favorite brew....I will usually order Heineken, which I do like and have been drinking for years. I agree that the American lite beers taste like water. No offense to you lite beer lovers....different strokes for different folks.
I am looking forward to trying Balashi at the first opportunity I get! Do they sell them at the airport? There's bound to be a bar in the airport....after 5+ hours of flying I will be ready for a couple of cold ones while waiting for luggage.

Thanks to all for your help and input. This is a great forum!
Cheers...
