Will be going to Lings for food but wanted to know if that is also the best palce for liquor/beer as well, or if there is something closer to my hotel just as good or better.

Besides mini marts inside the resorts, you best bet is one of the grocery stores. If you want to shop prices for specific brands, the four stores are all within walking distance. The grocery stores are located about half way between the airport and Ocean Club.

Cheap beer/liqour in Aruba.

DD, there's also a duty free shop just past the luggage carousel, but before you clear customs, in the airport if you want to make a liquor purchase there. It's especially convenient if you're waiting for checked bags anyway.

I'm going to have to try Amstel Bright next trip. I've never had one. As far as the Duty Free shop, I didn't look past the Bailey's Mint Chocolate Irish Cream liqueur.

I really don't know if the Duty Free shop sells beer. That's a good question though. Maybe someone else will know. I've only ever seen liquor, but I haven't looked for beer.
