    Airport Embarkation Tax
For U.S. flights this tax is included in your airfare ticket ( price).

my answer is that this is a thread about DUTY FREE in the arrivals area....and some folks will choose to buy their duty free in that location after they pick up their luggage and leave the Aruba airport to begin their holiday.....they may not have the opportunity to get duty free liquor before sunday. so, it is good they are open on sundays.

and off topic.......remember in years past when practically NOTHING in the USA was open on sundays? if memory serves it was called "sunday blue laws"
    that kept businesses from opening.

Why should there be any restriction on what days they can be open? Not everyone is of a faith where Sunday is considered holy.

1 Bottle of Ketel One Vodka at airport $20 US
1 Bottle of Ketel One Vodka at Ling n Sons $39 US

We had 5 people, bought 2 bottles of ketel one, one bottle Patron, one Bottle Bacardi and one bottle Captain morgans and spent $125.
At the supermarket we would have paid almost $200. If you go over the one liter pp, you're still ahead paying the duty.

the aruba customs agent told me the duty on 1 litre liquor is $11 per litre

so even if you had gone over the limit on the KETEL ONE VODKA, and had to pay the $11 duty, you'd still be ahead $8 instead of buying it at LINGS.
