Eletronics

Hi,

Aruba is a good place to buy eletronics?
I intend to buy a Galaxy Tab and I wonder if I can buy in Aruba.
Do you know a place where I can buy it? Do you know the price?
I know that should be probably more expensive than in USA, but I'm from Brazil and usually here we have higher prices than anywhere else.

Thanks

There is around 15 electronic stores on the Island.
No real competition so expect most prices to be similar in different stores.
Although last week I bought an Ipad and checked a lot of the stores and most were crazy expensive, but ended up buying it at Boolchands and the price was only about 10% more expensive than in the states (with sales tax included).

The shops below are the leading ones:

Boolchands
RadioShack
Modern Electronics
Sam's by Manolo

Boolchands, Modern Electronics, Sam¨s by Manolo and Lucky are all very close to each other, so you should be able to check the price in all of them in 20 minutes to find the best deal.

Only chance for a bargin is normally if Pricesmart have it as an offer, but that is like winning the lottery.

I don't know if they are more expensive, but there is Antraco store next to Samson book store. It's located near the Wendy's at the roundabout. i purchased things there. Alittle more expensive than Best Buy in U.S.

We also used Antraco to buy our DVD player. Priced them out at several of the other electronic stores and ended up there to buy.

Yep Antraco is also a possibility.
They are often good for Computer and office type purchases.
Normally don't have the very latest consumer electronics though.
