I'm going to be arriving on a Saturday evening, and for the first time I'll actually be able to go to the flea market on L.G. Smith Blvd. on Sunday.... that is if it's open when I get there. I'm coming in on Easter weekend and I get the feeling there won't be any vendors because it is Easter. Charles, would you know, or would any of the local Arubans online know?
I think I know the answer for this, but hanks in advance...
If you get to the flea market, will you please write a report? I've never been there and am interested to know if it's worth spending the time. Thanks.
The flea market is fun, however, you if can't get there you will find the same "stuff" at the huts along LG smith blvd. The only thing they don't have at the huts that they sell at the flea market is snow cones. We have been every year for the past 4 yrs when we rent a car and I believe its only open on sunday.
We just returned from Aruba. The flea market is open on Saturdays and Sundays. There are similar items sold along LG Smith Blvd. but it's nice to walk through.
I think it is all crap. If your looking for the typical tourist nick nack than go, but if your thinking of a typical flea market that sells cool things that you wouldnt find in a store...skip it.
The flea market close to the Supermarkets and across from the old Bushiri Hotel will probably be open. They sell a ton of BBQ ribs and chicken and I know they cater to the publick that is going to the beach. (Cooking on the beaches will be frowned on)
The vendors at this market do not sell the "Neat" stuff that you would find at a market in the USA. There will not be old knick-knacks or other collectables. This is more a market for tourists to buy a few 'islandy' shirts or cotton tie-slacks and maybe a hat or two. Last time I was there, there were several people selling plants.
