liquor costs

You can buy liquor at Ling and Hong King grocery stores. The prices differ by a few dollars between the two. The prices seem to be just slightly higher than home, but when you think about it, purchasing bottles from the store is still a lot less expensive than going to the hotel bar.

You could take those airplane sized bottles in your checked luggage, but you could probably only get about 3 or 4 in a 1 qt. ziplock bag (why bother.)

If you fly from an international airport you can purchase the liquor at a duty free store, pick it up at your gate when you board the flight and take it with you to your hotel.

Certified mall/food store has a decent selection and OK prices, better than anywhere in the highrise area.

You won't be able to take the bottles through security if they are in your carry on..

Cidyo,
Not sure if you have been reading some of posts regarding suitcases. Many airlines are now only alloeing 1 suitcase per person for free. Fees vary for additional bags. Check your airline website.

we, me included, sound like a bunch of boozers no insult intended, i am trying to be cute.

yesterday at the NH state liquor store they had mcgregor scotch on special for $8 and baileys (all flavors) 2 for $22 and flavored vodka and i forget the price.

and also got a few bottles of merlot and pinot noir for pretty cheap. have any of you tried beringer white merlot? yum.

the point is so i can stay on topic..........the scotch and the vodka was in plastic bottles! those can be packed in checked luggage without worry. or if weight of the luggage is an issue....with worry.

happy aruba dreaming all
