shopping center
Does anyone know if the new shopping mall that was being built behind the Holiday Inn is finished yet. If so what is it like?? We always go up town to the internet cafe to call home once or twice because it was just 15 cents a minute. We also got some souveniers, but it would be so much faster to walk over to the mall. I would rather stay on the beach as much as I can.

Mr. Jazz Offers Live Music & Fun Opening July 2006, Paseo Herencia http://agents.aruba.com/news/wmview.php?ArtID=475 "Paseo Herencia is the new shopping & entertainment Plaza coming to Palm Beach, designed with a wink at Aruba’s cultural and historical heritage with the opening earmarked for July 2006. The building draws inspiration from traditional Aruban elements of décor, delivering a tropical, colonial, open air ambiance and feel. The complex will boast Dutch style gables, slanted tile roofs and Spanish decorative columns as well as a 90 foot tall, ornamented bell tower, with an 8 foot clock. It will feature a 3 deck parking garage with a total of 8550 square meters accommodating 320 cars. Dan Oduber and Denise Louvera-Oduber are in charge of the design, the same duo responsible for landmarks as Playa Linda, Costa Linda and Sun Plaza. The plaza will feature stores as “A taste of Belgium”, Maggy’s, New Balance, Colombian Emeralds, Kenro Jewelers, Kok Optica, Thank God it’s Friday, a happening eatery out of Venezuela, a seafood restaurant, a steakhouse and jazz club by Vittorio Muscariello (Hostaria), Aruba Joe’s, Aruba Aloe and even a radio station will broadcast from a glass encased studio and more. The plaza will be wrapped by an 8 meter pool with waltzing water, a Las Vegas style extravagance of water, music and color exclusively contracted with Paseo Herencia. The plaza will also feature 6 cinemas with 125 reclining seats each, operated by E. de Veer Cinemas." http://www.aruba.com/news/cuisine/aruba-restaurants-update-october-2007/ "The Bistro at Paseo Herencia opened this week, a Taste of Belgium branch. The Frietje was one of the pioneer outlets to open at the Paseo Herencia, now having built the kitchen, at the adjacent restaurant, the terrace portion is now open and serving guests delicious foods in a casual European atmosphere on director’s chairs and square bistro tables." |
