Hello,

Does anyone know if the supermarkets will be open for part of the day on Christmas Day? I normally go shopping the day I arrive but have never arrived on a Holiday. Please let me know!

Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I am fairly certain the stores, if open, close early on the 24th and are closed the 25th as well as the 26th for Boxing Day. I remember there were friends who had difficulty obtaining milk because of the closures during the holidays.

The only place to get a few items will be at hotel shops.

I should clarify this goes for New Years Eve and New Years Day as well.

Thanks for the info! I have been to Aruba for the New Year but have never been there on Christmas. I guess we will eat out for the first couple of days.

Are the restaurants open on Christmas day?

I happen to come for 3 weeks last year beginning Christmas Eve.I wanted to start buying furniture for our home . Everything was closed! Including Supermarkets. We were fortunate to have a neighbor share milk.

Um, I think it is not all about YOU.

Aruba is predominantly a Catholic island and employees have the day off the attend church and spend time with their family.
