We are traveling with owners of a wine store in the states and need to know where we should go for the best wine selections on the island. Domestic and international......where do you suggest we go? Both retail wine stores and restaurants for great wine lists.....

I have found the wine selection at retail to be ok-kind of a crapshoot. They carry many of the known labels and lots of South American and Australian/New Zealand wines that can be good, but a bit of risk.

Most of the better restaurants have good wine lists with lots of good French and Italian labels but a bit weak on the California's. Madame Janette's is the only restaurant on the island that receives Wine Spectator's top rating for their wine list which is quite impressive as they give it to maybe 300 restaurants in the world. All in all I think you can find a good variety to choose from both at retail and at restaurants.

We have yet to go thirsty in Aruba!
