Question Adequate Rental Car Insurance

Hi Everyone,
So my husband and I decided to rent a car from Tropic after so many positive recommendations from you all, but we want to make sure we have adequate rental car insurance. I have looked into getting insurance through my credit card but it only covers the rental car and the people renting the car. It does not cover another car or person(s) in case of an accident. Does the coverage through Tropic cover another car or person(s). We want this for peace of mind god forbid something did happen. Any help is greatly apprecited.
Thank you.
Jaime

Check through your own personal car insurance. If no coverage there. Check with http://www.insuremytrip.com

Hey Hey Hey,

Bon Dia (Good Morning).
When it comes to insurance when renting a car, here is some interesting facts:

Your Credit Card Insurance, will cover most damages, however, not accepted on Aruba.
So if God Forbid, you get into an accident, you would have to pay for all expenses, and then claim in the U.S.

So, here is my recommendation (Ofcourse, I work for a car rental so I have to say it, but it also helps in these cases):
Buy 3rd party insurance in Aruba. It is less expensive then all risk, and you will be held accountable for only $ 500.00!
and you can then claim the $ 500.00 from your credit card insurance later!

Hope this helps.
Should you need more detailed info,.....just let me know.

Just make sure you are covered before you get in the car. On our first trip down years ago, someone sideswiped our rental car on the sharp corner in front of the high rises, and took off. It cost me $900.00 to settle with the rental company. then when I got home I discovered that the credit union card I had used for the rental didn't have any insurance coverage included. it was an expensive lesson.
