American Car Rentals

I have already reserved a Jeep from them (they were the cheapest) for when my Fiancee and I go to Aruba for our honeymoon June 27 - July 2. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them, are they a good company to use or should we cancel our rental and go with someone else? Still have plenty of time to find somewhere else if need be, so any input is much appreciated, this will be our first time in Aruba.

There is some info at these threads. A variety of opinions for sure. Keep in mind, sometimes with cheapest you are getting what you paid for.

Thanks for the help, based on the comments and your suggestion in the other thread I have decided to change my reservation to Amigo Car Rental. It sounds like you really do get what you pay for through American Car Rental.

Our family is renting a van from Amigo for a couple of days during our next trip. Some family members who have never been to Aruba will get to see some sights, the shoppers will do what they do best and we'll probably sneak in a snorkel stop or two

I will let you know how we made out upon return.

Found a place on-line called Payless Car Rental. Has anyone out there ever heard of them. And what was your experience???

After I changed to Amigo they were very prompt on the confirmation, they also informed that the Jeep I had requested (Wrangler 4x4 std) was not available but they could offer me a 2008 Wrangler 4x4 auto w/ac for only $20 more. I was very pleased with the promptness of Amigo and there honesty in telling me what I origanlly wanted was not available.

My Mom emailed them about 8 pm last night re: availability of a specific vehicle not expecting a reply until maybe Monday. She had a reply by 10 am today, Sunday.
