Another new fee Hertz just added to my bill

Again they say the rates stay the same but fees and taxes can go up before you pick up your car. I just checked the website and they add this to my bill
VEHICLE ENVIRONMENTAL RECOVERY FEE $10.50. Now this great "rental price" of $210.00 is up to $270.00! LOL Is this compatible to other rental prices for a week?

We're actually paying $600 USD for two weeks (all in) so I'd say you're still getting a relatively good bargain but I guess it also depends on what kind of car you have. We rented an intermediate because we had quite a bit of luggage... lucky we did: it filled the entire back seat and trunk!

I have paid similar fees in the past in Aruba in the past --- although that particular fee sounds high. I am paying $28 for that fee for a week coming up. But my overall rental is costing $284 total for a mid-size in December.

Went with Budget and with fees for an intermediate for the week it was $284.00. Have had problem with Hertz renting at the Ren with being closed on days needing to turn in or out to lunch.

Our bill with Hans at Tropic for 12 days last June was $304. That includes pickup and drop off at the airport and a friendly conversation. Total pickup time was 15 minutes from gate to leaving the parking lot. Drop off was just handing him the keys as we took our luggage out of the car in front of departure.
