Last used them in 2013 for a car for one week & a 12-passenger van for one week. No issues.

I used them in last year for a jeep it was ok had almost bald tires and not cleaned but would use them again. Also check Budget. 10% off if you have an Aruba Plus card with everything came to around $330 for three days.

Used them once, 2010, wasn't real impressed with their customer service. Convertible we had rented wasn't available when we arrived. Replacement vehicle didn't suit our needs. Following day picked up third vehicle which was great but when we returned it week later they seemed put out they had to drive us the one mile to the airport. First and last rental with them.

We too had a bad experience with Royal. First two times they were ok (despite cars in lousy condition) but third time we had had it with them so never again. Dig deeper there are threads with ppl not very happy with Royal.

We rented from them 5 or 6 times over the years and had only one minor issue. We are planning on using them again on Friday and will be happy to update you how thing go this time.

Rented from Royal in 2013 (4 door jeep).... then again in 2014 (2x 4 door jeeps and 1x 2 door jeep)
No issues at all.... As pointed out the jeeps are not even close to brand new condition but I think this is universal to all rental agencies. We have also rented from Hertz before and the jeep we got there was in just as bad if not worse condition than Royals.

Unlike others, every interaction I have had with them from a customer service perspective has been spot on. Shuttle service has always been at the airport on time, guys at the office are fun and fast to deal with. I always get a quick response to my emails.

Even though our experience has been positive when we started looking for this year we contemplated using another company (More4Less). I emailed them through their website and never got a response, emailed again.. never got a response... Finally I went back to Royal and just like in the past received quick response & good prices so we booked with them again for this year.

I kid you not.. Two weeks after we had booked with Royal (probably 2 months after we initially contacted More4Less), we finally got a response from More4Less. They had already lost my business and there quote was $150 more than we got from Royal so no loss there, I honestly did want to try them though as they seem to be the company with the best reviews..... Oh well!!

I've used Royal a few times, the latest being last month. Pre-vaca customer service has always been top notch. On arrival some reps are more personable than others but in general they have all been helpful just not always service with a smile. We all have bad days so that doesn't even register on my radar.

All of our jeeps have been pretty crappy which I like since in my probably misguided logic its makes us less of a theft target with additional benefit of being able to drive through the goat paths without fear of having to pay for scratches. This last trip down we needed to get a repair done midway through the trip which was a bummer because we had to spend 30 minutes of vacation running an errand.

On the last day of the trip the freshly repaired jeep broke down on our way to the airport a couple of hours prior to departure. They got someone out to us but imo he took much longer than he should have. They said he was leaving right away (about 10-15 minutes away) but I called again after 20 minutes and they assured me he already left. The guy finally arrived about 20 minutes after the call. In my mind he either got lost (not likely) or hadn't left until after the second call. I'm leaning more towards the latter. Everything turned out just fine. I would still use them again but instead of having a loyal customer who rents a jeep 2 weeks out of the year and refers others they left the door wide open for another company.

Will never rent from them again ! If you chose to rent from Royal, here's a bit of advice....take pictures of every scratch, dents tires of the vehicle and make sure you document it. Or you'll pay ....many other car rentals to chose from

At the risk of sounding like a fanboy we have again experienced the exact opposite of this. That being said I am certainly not discounting your experience just stating ours.

Last year we decided to be a bit adventurous with the jeeps and went through the puddles/creeks near Andicuri. They are not deep and everything was fine until we were about to leave and when I was turning around a tire dipped in some very soft sand at the edge of the creek/puddle and I was STUCK!!!! We tried everything to get it out but finally had to call a tow truck and through that process we also called Royal and one of their guys came out to the site. Initially it was a very tense situation because through our attempts to free jeep we actually got it stuck worste and it was leaning to one side and one of the tires was half to 3/4 under water (it looked very bad). I still had the motor running though and water was no where close to the motor or air intake so even though looks were bad, the jeep was fine!! When the royal employee showed up he was naturally concerned and through his concern I became concerned that this could turn out very bad for me.
The employee hung around until the tow truck pulled us out and made sure that everything seemed fine, which it was and we all went on our way. For the remainder of the trip I had a pretty bad feeling that when we went to turn in the jeep it was not going to be fun times.....

Turned out.. I was wrong. They gave it a once over, didn't say one thing about the getting stuck situation and sent us on our way.
