Thanks Amy. I didn't know. There has been so much on what is going on at the airport, we can't keep up with the changes.

We had friends visiting the end of March & we needed to rent an extra car. Hans was totally booked. The 2 agencies I checked with before renting a vehicle did not have a shuttle service.

Dh just phoned General Aviation and was sent to voice mail.
Phoned Schotlandstraat office and was told the new reservation he made this a.m. was not yet in their system to please phone back in a couple of days.
In the meantime he spoke to Avis USA today regarding the documentation he had faxed over and they were still "reviewing it". Will keep you posted.

You probably won't get anything more than the email confirmation which we all recieved. Supposedly, we are/were supposed to be contacted that our reservations were done in error and cancelled. That is what Lidia said see my posting farther down (way farther) and when I called customer service they said that the confirmation would not be honoured.

My issue is that we should have been contacted and by not doing as such, it seems like there is some sort of scam going on. Once you arrive at Avis, they undoubtably will tell you that the price of the car is more expensive. You will find out at pick up, otherwise where are the emails notifying us of the correct amount????

First: where was that written??
and
Second: they should be contacting the customers about the contracts where the amounts are wrong. It is terrible that someone could show up and be expecting a vehicle at a certain price and then only to be told that it is double! Lidia clearly stated that customers would be contacted about the error, has anyone received an email from the Aruba Avis location???

New blogger... 4 days til paradise.

First I want to thank everyone for sharing their info on the whole AVIS ordeal! I have been actively reading everyones posts from about 3 weeks ago and found the same avis deals. Long story short, booked with the main office for $77.51 with confirmation and since have been dropped. (reservation) I called tonight to the customer service for avis, explained the situation, and am anxiously awaiting. I am a Avis First member (ya, I rent a lot of cars) through my traveling occupation. Customer service told me to fax in my confirmation # with attention to a case number they gave me that noted my complaints. They rebooked me at at price of $215 for the week and will turn my complaint and fax to a manager in the morning. I dont know what will happen, but Only a few days til I leave. Worse case scenerio, I will not rent with avis and taxi to my destination. (Marriott surf club) I will keep everyone informed what happens the next few days. Wish me luck. ITS CRUNCH TIME!
