ok, latest update is as follows:

Spoke with a supervisor of Customer Service and he said that they can not NOT honour my confirmation. He said that the confirmation must stand. He is going to do some further investigation and will advise me. I sent him the email exchanges for his review.

I will keep you all informed........

BTW, Lidia did email me back (see one of my earlier postings as I put her response on the BB) and told me that the reservation was canceled but it actually has not been canceled.

Thanks!
Curious myself.

Dh emailed Lidia late Friday and as of yet has not received a response.
Truthfully he is not expecting one.
What a way to run a business...

I rented the Suv via the regular Avis website. I emailed both Nixon and Lidia to confirm my reservation and the price. They both responded back to me within a few days stating that my reservation was confirmed and my price would be honored.

Regards,
David

Can anyone share if they have picked up yet at General Aviation? was there a shuttle? How inconvenient was it to pick up there? Also, what are the email addresses to send to to confirm pickup and prices?

----Avis Update ----

We just got back from Aruba last night and we miss being there already.

We returned our rented SUV back to the airport Avis (We picked up the vehicle at General Aviation). We encountered no problems. I was presented the bill for $131.00 for a rental for ten days. The price included all taxes and fees.

No complaints from me regarding Avis...

Regards,
David

I extremely pleased that someone was able to get Avis to stand by their pricing. Our emails to Lidia Pourier go unanswered.

Contact information: Lidia Pourier 002 97 587-7202 lpourier@avis.aw

Good luck. Be persistent with them and they will honor your reservation or maybe I was just lucky...

Regarding a shuttle from the airport Avis to General Aviation - Upon my arrival, I was originally told that I would have to take a taxi at my own cost. I stated to her in a nice firm way, that I was told via email, that I would driven to General Aviation from the Airport.

The bottom line - we were driven to General Aviation by an Avis worker.

Regards,
