Best Place to Rent a Car

Any compnay to stay away from? Any to recommend? Will be in Aruba in three weeks. First time family of 6. Just decided that it might be better to rent then to take taxi's and public transportation.

Taxi's by Aruba law are allowed only 5 persons by taxi. The bus system is safe and inexpensive ($2.30 round trip) but with 6 people it might be b[etter to rent a vehicle. I rented from http://www.more4less-aruba.com/ for the first time this past April. I highly recommend them.

You will need a van and there are a number of options but not all car rentals have vans. Stay away from any company at the airport as you will have to pay a 10% tax. Lots of places close (as in minutes) from the airport.

I find that Budget has some of the better prices. You can check out the prices on budgetaruba.com. In addition, if you buy the Visit Aruba card from visitaruba.com, Budget gives an additional 10% discount off of the listed rates. I have been renting from Budget for many years, and I have never had any problems. Their cars are not the newest, but I have never had one break down.

Question Best Place to Rent a Car

Hello Everyone! We're getting ready to take our first trip to Aruba (me, my husband, and our 14 & 15 year old). I'd like to rent a car for the week....I think. Is that a good idea? Is it worth renting a jeep for the entire week? What is the best place to rent a car? I've found a good rate for a Jeep Wrangler from American....is that a reputable place? Thanks so much....it must be a beautiful place since so many of you return!

Where are you staying...maybe you'll only need it for a few days. We only rent for a few days and use it to go to the restaurants that are out of the way...FFishbone, etc.
Figure out what you want to do b 4 you rent.

Suggestions for Reasonable Car Rental Rates January 12-19

We paid a little over $300 total for 2 weeks in November for a mid size car with authomatic, power steering and air conditioning. We are returning again to renew our wedding vows for our 50th wedding anniversary and arriving January 12th. I have been getting outrageous rates from the major car rental companies. I know this will be high season, but the rates I have been getting for 1 week is over $500 a week including tax. We like to pick our car up at the airport rather then go in a van to the car rental location off site from the airport. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much

Have you tried More4Less. They are not at the airport but just across the road by the Texaco station. I have been very happy with the vehicles and service.
