Car rental insurance

Advisory when renting a car to take the insurance with the best coverage, lately there has been a lot of car theft.

Thanks for the heads up. Are they just taking things out of cars (smashing windows, etc) or stealing the whole car? Are some areas more risky than others?

thanks for that info bully.
there are some car rental insurance options listed on different "trip cancellation/interruption policies"

we use the site www.insuremytrip.com
we compare companies, prices, coverage.
some of the coverages include car rental insurance.

I called my insurance company, to get the exact details on my coverage when driving a rental. I always compare it with the details of the rental companies. I choose whichever is best. Most rental companies offer $XX.XX/day with a no questions asked policy. To me, that is usually better than dealing with my insurance company.

+1 for the American Express coverage. I have found nothing that even approaches it. I used it for our two weeks last November and all it cost was the $24.95 for two weeks!
