Avis is in the Lobby of La Cabana. check their rates on www.lacabanabrc.com . At the airport I recommend www.Wheels2GoAruba.com . Great cars and service and wonderful owners. Ricky, will meet you at the airport in the lobby of the baggage pickup area (Ricky will have your name on a card) and take your luggage over to the parking lot. The paperwork is done online when you make the reservation. Less than 5 mins to check out the car and your on the way to La Cabana. On the day you leave Ricky or his wife Anky will meet you outside the departure building to return the vehicle. If you don't want to keep the car for you whole stay Ricky will pick it up at La Cabana; no need to return the car to an office. Fast and easy. Wheels2Go will lend you a phone if needed (request on reservation form). You do need to add minutes to the phone which you can do at the airport.

Econo car rental had an office at La Quinta but I am not sure it is still open. IMHO it is better to get one at the airport if you are renting for your entire stay. You would end up paying for a cab to the hotel and back to the airport along with those 2 days of car rental. If you are just getting one for a few days I would not use the airport.
It depends on the time of year and what you are booking. Cars from Hans at Tropic go really fast so you must book way in advance. Royal and More4Less have cars most anytime with reservations a month out usually good enough to get something.. The big companies, Avis, Budget and such always have cars. My advice is rent something as soon as you know you're going. The only real price differences are between high and low season.
