For the first time in recent memory officials launch a gas hike warning for this Wednesday. It's been rising steadily, now at $4.69 gallon.

If my memory serves it was about $5.50 ($2.50 afl/ltr) in the fall of 2008. Granted I only buy gas in Aruba once (or twice) a year but for years and years it's always been $4 it seems.

It's not uncommon to spend a week buzzing about the island in a Yaris for $30 or less, even at $4/gal.

Send a message via Skype™ to Andrea J.
with the increase in fuel........makes it a hardship on the taxidrivers.
most of them own their own taxis.
all are locked in to the government set rates and cannot raise rates to offset their fuel increases.

frustrating for them indeed.

This is correct. If you go to http://arubagasoline.com/ on the right hand side there is a list of historical prices. July 2008 - $5.75 & August 2008 $5.62
