hi all

today we had our first real tour of the island.
yup we have been coming here for many yrs (trip #32 i think)

cerry/serry croes took us on an island tour in his really nice toyota suv

we went to shark teeth hill and he along with paul or friend charlie and me went on a shark teeth hunt.

going to the site and back we all got a great aruba history lesson
serry is my age, meaning he grew up in the 60's and 70's, is a lifelong resident and has soe great stories, fact and lore.

we had a blast

his next career should be a middle school teacher! history/social studies/civics.

he and paul were really clunking their brains together talking politics, arawak indians and all sorts of other history stuff

So did you find any shark teeth? What kind of sharks were they?

shark teeth hill

we gave one of the teeth to an archaeologist that teaches at the college here in town

he didn't even guess an age
the tooth that he took is about 2" in length
and he handled it wearing gloves

he took us around the area of broken down natural bridge, and we spent an hour at shark teeth hill

you'd have to email him to find out the price
our tour was totally off the beaten path and not one he has ever given before
so, the price we got was not typical

during the ride to and from he gave us a great history lesson
ranging from the arowak settlers to current day.

we loved it.
