eagle beach

last year my husband and i stayed on palm beach in aruba for our first trip...this year we are staying on eagle beach (lacabana)...we really enjoyed palm beach's walk way...we did a lot of walking from resort to resort...we only rented a car for one day of site seeing...how different will it be this year???????...will we be able to walk (on the beach) to other resorts, beach bars, etc. on eagle beach??????last year we never even went into town, and took cabs to only a few restaurants (madame J, papiamento, old cunucu etc) and walked to the rest...except for dinner and a little shopping we will be on the beach and walking about for 10 days....just want to know where we can walk to from eagle beach/la cabana....thanks....i can't wait until march 15-25 for my real vacation.....

I think you may feel pretty limited without a car. There are restaurants within walking distance, but not many resorts. http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=12.5513904&lon=-70.0547075&z=17&l=0&m=a&v=2

Here is a list of restaurants.

Thumbs up

>>> "where we can walk to from eagle beach/la cabana...."
---- Its a little walk but walk down the road in front of La Cabana to the Hospital.
Will come to 5 resorts all close together(Costa Linda, Bucuti, Manchebo, Aruba Beach Club, Casa del Mar). All have a beach front restaurant. Also Alhambra Casino, donut shop, pizza place, Subway, bagel shop, phone center, small shops; are all in the area. First resort will be Costa Linda. There will be a access road near their front entrance that takes you to the other places.
All of those resorts have a Web Site.

Walking the beach the Costa Linda Resort is 3/4 mile and the Manchebo a mile.

Next door to LaCabana is Amsterdam Manor. They have two restaurants - Passions (beach dining) and Mango's - and they also have a beach bar that serves lunch.

Going in the opposite direction from LaCabana is Paradise Beach Villas which has Le Petit Cafe. Further down the road are two more restaurants: Chalet Suisse and Tulip. And a bit longer of a walk is the Screaming Eagle.

The bus stop is also located in front of Amsterdam Manor and it will take you to Palm Beach (only about 5 minutes away) or downtown.

Walking along Eagle beach is great. It is a beautiful beach. The atmosphere away from the actual beach is very different than at Palm Beach. Palm Beach has become a very "happening" place with the outdoor malls, restaurants, etc. Lots of places to walk and wander around at night. Some people like it and some people don't. Its a matter of personal opinion of what you like.
