    International Driver's License

I was wondering if anyone knew for a fact if I need an International Driver's License permit from AAA to drive a rental car in Aruba? Thanks for any answers!

    Welcome to the forum.

No international driver's license is required if you have a "non-Aruban" license.

"Driving is on the right side of the road, foreign and international driving licenses accepted. Free parking throughout the island, no right turns on red light.

Thanks for the answer Arubalisa! Also, thanks for letting me know about no turn on red! I'm so used to making those in Virginia, I'm sure I would have done it without realizing!

I was never aware of the no right on red.... Not that there are many lights on the Island.

read an article in one of the local trade papers while on the island last year and it reminded tourists that they do not allow turning on red and say there have been a few accidents because of that.....
seemed like everyone that knows the laws about turning on red, know they can only do it if there is no opposing traffic coming.......however, I see people trying to turn on read and "beat" on coming traffic that has the right of way in the states all the time so I guess if you do it here you would do it there as well !!!!!
