My family of 5 will be coming to Aruba from Jan 21, 2012-March 29, 2012 and then again from April 18 - June 25. We are trying to figure out the most economical way to rent a car. Is there a local place to do that kind of a deal?

My husband has suggested buying one in january and then selling it in June... Does anyone have thoughts on this? (difficulties in buying/selling, registration/insurance on the island even without a job)?

contact all of the car rental agencies AND the car dealerships to ask about leases.

what is your reason for going to aruba for those 2 long stretches?
if it is work or school, then i suggest the HR depts of the school or place of employment.

mostly just vacation, but we need to come home for a couple weeks in the middle for a wedding and some birthday parties. I have contacted some rental car companies and it is really expensive. I haven't contacted dealerships to ask about a 6 month lease, I will try that. Thanks!
