What a welcome addition. We'd thought this would be a good intx for a roundabout years ago and were happy to see it under construction in November. I wonder of it is AUA's intent to eliminate traffic lighted intx's altogether. For instance, the intx just south of this new one on LG Smith Boulevard where you have the road past Ling & Sons opposite where you turn off for the Divi complex - with its multiple layers of traffic lights - may be a good candidate for a roundabout.

i think that the new Watty Vos Blvd will end at that very intersection at "Sun Plaza" of which you speak. My understanding is that it will be a giant rotary/roundabout.

imo, there are 4 miserable intersections that imo are problematic.
    1. this big intersection of which you referenced...near Lings and Divi Dutch.
    2. the intersection @ the Tropicana and SuperFood.
    3. the intersection @ Palm Beach Rd near Bavaria and MickeyD's.
    4. the intersection of Palm Beach Rd/Rte 2/St Anne's in Noord.

Maybe roundaboouts are all planned for these? I don't know though.

I would think that putting in roundabouts near the grocery stores would make it very dangerous for those who walk to the stores to cross the street. At least now the lights stop traffic for people to cross.

I agree. Perhaps pedestrian overpasses will be installed as part of the overall re-design.
