Cool Question about the bus system

Hi to all and looking forward to meeting some of you on the beautiful island of Aruba.
I looked over the Arubus site and couldnt quite make things out.
Do they have a bus that goes from the airport to the Renissance Marriott downtown?
We will just be staying a couple days so will just have carry on stuff from the plane.
Im not cheap but Im always looking to save a buck here- so I can spend more money on my wife in other places
Let me know. We are not afraid of walking a little distance either.
Just got done walking and hiking all over Europe this June.
Thanks in advance
Tim

You might also consider taking a cab instead. Looks like it's about $18 or so from the airport to downtown (http://www.arubabound.com/transp/taxi_fares.htm). And, you get to go on your schedule, rather than the bus's.

We were originally going to do the bus at $20pp (there are four of us) but realized we could just get a cab for about $22 each way. And we wouldn't have to wait for everyone else to get on/off the bus.

Thanks for all the replies. I was thinking about public bus since we will just have 1 carry on each that we could hold on our lap (since we are only staying two days: ( )
I know we will have to cross a street and such we'll see once we get there.
Thanks again and looking forward to being in Aruba in less than one week.
Peace
Tim

yes it can be done. the bus stop is across from the main entrance to the airport on the other side of the road.........just up from the set of lights where you'll cross.
whatever you decide to do, good luck.

Inconvenient and a hassle in my opinion.
schelping your carry on thru the parking lot, and across the main highway (yes there are a set of traffic lights) to wait in the blazing sun for the bus is not fun and would certainly not be a fun way to start an aruban holiday.

safe travels and enjoy.

To add a little something, if I may...
I've noticed many times on the "things you can't do on this bus" sign on the Arubus a picture of luggage. And more than once I've seen the driver of the bus get more than a little perturbed at one of us *that would mean tourist* getting on the bus with luggage.
Once to the point of telling the passenger that they just couldn't get on the bus... rules is rules.

A laptop you could likely get away with, anything else, I would be a little more careful of.

Save the hassle. Take a cab. It's a pretty short ride to the Renaissance.

Whichever you decide, have an amazing time in paradise...

A taxi from the airport to the Renaissance is $18. Additional $3 on Sunday. Fare is per trip and NOT per person.
