So sorry to hear about your problem with this rental car agency..I have used them in the past with no problems what-so-ever but now i will make a point of not using them.....I usually just check a few of the agencies out to see which one is running a better deal and I go with that one. Have tried tropic for the past 2 years now but seem to never get them early enough to get a car...next year I will check availability as soon as I get back from this years vacation...
Good luck with getting your problem settled.....Royal is off my list permanently

    Hi all,

I have used a number of different car rental companies here. Recently I had the pleasure of dealing with wheels2go. Anke met me at the airport where they had the car parked in general parking. The car was in excellent condition and Anke had all the paperwork prepared along with a portable credit card machine. She did everything, was friendly and the deal was done in minutes. No going and waiting in offices etc. Recommend them big time.

We were always loyal to Amigo, but over the years it seemed we got older and older vehicles. Tried Royal first & last time in Jan 2010. Had more than a couple customer service issues with them for that one, 1 week rental. Since then have used Hertz as they have a desk right at Renaissance where we stay and I can pick up and drop off the car right outside the ocean suites. So far so good.

Well have an update I hassled royal to see if they'd chased the police report, I had no reply so went to the station in oranjestad, which has moved to Dakota, spent two hours trying to find the new station to find out there's no report as of yet so I'm going to give it another 24 hours and go back again, I'd like a copy of the report for myself. In the meantime Urmie from royal emailed me to say he's passed details to his insurance and asked them to get the report however it's easier for him if I get it myself! Glad I still have 16 days left I'd be pretty peeved if I had to go again on my last few days. I guess I got what I paid for as I went for the cheapest 3 month deal (more money for casinos) I'm considering buying a car next year I have a local who would take care of it when I'm not here. Any thoughts on that? Thanks again for all your responses xx

We have used Royal twice. The first year went pretty smooth. The second time our car was damaged in a parking lot while unattended. The damage amounted to 1500 Florins, which we paid for on our credit card before we left the island. When we got home I contacted our credit card company and submitted a claim through them. Urmie was very responsive with providing the required documentation, including damage report, repair estimate and photos. Without his cooperation I would have never been able to file a claim. I received a check covering all of the damage and estimating fees within a week of returning home.

This is year we switched to Wheels2go and I must say that the service and vehicle great. The vehicle was in mush better condition than the one's we received from Royal and at a more competitive rate. We're using them again in a couple of weeks and at this point I can highly recommend them.
