Taxi fare is $8 each way from the high rise resorts (Marriot) to Oranjestad. Add an additional $3 each way on Sundays and after midnight.

Bus? Personal preference.

I rent a car, but if I am going downtown, I always take the bus going. During the day its hard to find a parking spot. At night I have a hard time driving in the dark. I take most times the bus on the way back, sometimes a taxi.

The bus is clean, safe and accessible. Fare is $2.30 round trip. If downtown at night, the last bus to the Marriott is 11:40 pm. I pay $8 from/to La Cabana. Marriot is $10. There is a $3. surcharge after midnight, on sunday, and Aruba holidays.

Well, I am happy for the cab drivers if they do get an increase. They work hard, and haven't seen an increase in a long time. Given the cost of gas, it was long overdue. cindy

Sorry I was not all clear. The $2.30 round trip was for the bus. The $8 was by taxi from/to Renasance/La cabana; $10 to marriott.

Thank you Liz.

Iīm from Venezuela and the gasoline is very very cheap.

US$ 10,00 is about Bs.F 21,50 (venezuelan currency). In Caracas, the cheapest trip by taxi is about Bs.F 15,00 - 20,00. Looking Arubaīs taxi cost, they arenīt so expensive as everyone can think.

See ya!!!
