OKay I followed the thread and learned which ones to stay away from but which
are the best places to rent a 4W?. Also how about maps into the interior?

Are many of these vehicles equipped with GPS and a compass?

I am planning our vacation and need some good advice.

You really just need to go through the threads and come to your own conclusion. There are as many opinions about jeep and car rentals as there are agencies on the island.

Not that I have ever seen. It is only very recently that there have been any GPS maps even available. Garmin GPS
