I hope Aruba is doing something like VA Beach does. Walt can correct me if I'm wrong, but their city run parking gives local residents a much lower fee than tourists. I guess I don't really think much about parking meters or fees because of we've paid $10-20 a day to park at the beach here at home.
That is correct Tracey. We can park at city lots after 5:00 PM for $2.00 by showing our license. I'm not sure what the rates are prior to that, probably $2.00 an hour. Another nice thing is anyone can get a special card to place on your windshield that lets you stay in the lot with out being towed after it closes at 2:00 AM, in case you may have had too much to drink and take a cab or Uber home.

at the Hilton, they have a guest parking lot and you don't need a key or anything. And the Hyatt has that little lot next to it but they also have valet parking for $15. The Stellaris has free parking, & plenty of it.

The few resorts that we've parked at to access their casino's have had free parking. They should. We pay them enough inside

If you park at a resort, how do they know if you're gambling or having dinner somewhere in Palm Beach? Or both??

Frankly I was surprised last week that that lot was free.
I assumed that those lots are owned by the mall and not the government. I don't think the government can charge for parking on private property. The mall built the parking areas, not the government.

They don't. They don't care right now. There are a few resorts that require a room key to get in the parking lot but most don't. Radisson, Holiday Inn, Marriott complex, Costa Linda, renaissance suites and Casa Del Mar have open parking lots. We have never had a problem finding a space at any one of these. We park at the Holiday Inn to go to The Pelicans Nest. They may change this after the government starts charging because they will probably get an influx of local employees trying to park there instead of where they do now.

Hmm, we parked at the Crystal Casino downtown in their parking lot and did not have to pay. There is a man sitting outside that let's you in and out. I am wondering if there is camera's but too chicken to take the chance of wandering off the casino and come back to find my car towed. Some casino's back home when you park your car you get a ticket and the casino will stamp it with the time and when you leave you show the ticket.
Holiday Inn does not charge to park. The problem with parking at public places to go in the casino's is, if your involved in playing, who wants to leave to go feed the meters?
I know in resorts in Florida & Las Vegas they charged $20.00 a day to park your car!
I rent a car every year in Aruba but.......it maybe time to just take the cab & bus! The car rentals will ultimately take a hit!

Parking is free for the patrons of the Crystal Casino. You could inform the man who is sitting at that parking lot.

There is also free parking after 7 p.m.

There is free parking in December for Saturdays.

    Free parking on Sundays.
