Booked my flight and ready for week 27

I went with the direct flight out of Dulles this year on United. It is the only direct flight in the DC area to Aruba. In years past we have done the connectors because of the lower fares but this year they are almost as much as the direct flight. Coming home, the direct flight is so much nicer. You just want to be home at a decent hour. Our flight gets in at 8PM and then a 90 minute drive home. With connectors we have made it home as late as 3AM.

We stay at LaCabana. I would like to try some beach snorkeling instead of the booze cruise snorkel. Does anyone know where I can rent equipment by the week? Or is it cheaper to get our own and bring it? I would hate to buy decent equipment for a once per year use in Aruba.

I'm looking forward to those full contact volleyball games on the beach with the Sox and Yankee fans. I go unnoticed with my Phillies hat on. The 4th of July fireworks are good to see also. It is a nice salute from Aruba.

We have a place in Southern Maryland called the Tiki Bar. It's basically the front of a very old marina motel that people flock to. When I see it, the only thing I can think of is that I can't wait to get to the Bugaloe and watch my first Aruba sunset of the year and top it off with Smokey Joe's ribs. I'm welling up with tears now and it is hard to concentrate at work. I work at a nuke plant and ther is no crying in a nuke plant.

Stop by and say hi. I'll be the one with the Phillies hat at Philadelphia "Eagle Beach". I have a Capt. and coke in my cooler for you. Stay thirsty my friends.
Paul

Renting for a week will probably cost as much as buying a decent set. I picked up a pretty nice set for around$30 at Costco.

Snorkel gear can be rented at Aruba Watesports. They are located on Palm Beach between the Radisson and Occidental. You can email them for pricing in order to weigh the advantages of rent vs. purchase.

I would just purchase a set of gear. As long as you rinse it when you are finished, it will last for several years. Worst case, you may have to increase the number of trips you take to Aruba each year (JK).
