50th wedding anniversary vow renewal
Andrea,
Sorry we will not get a chance to meet you. Liz. glad we will get to meet. I will keep everyone posted the exact location that our ceremony will take place. We will be staying at the Divi so most likely we will have the ceremony on the Divi Beach. The Divi was the first resort we ever stayed at almost 33 years ago and we were repeat guests for many years until we bought our first timeshare. We are really excited about staying at the Divi because many of the staff we first met 33 years ago, are still working at either Divi or the Tamajrin. |

Location: Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.

Hi Karen,
We'll be there Jan.15-25, 2010. Congratulations on your upcoming annivesary. It sounds so wonderful that you'll be renewing your vows in Aruba. I've been going to Aruba, on and off, since 1980. It took all day and several connections, and that was just to go from Winnipeg to Miami. The next day I took the old Eastern Air Lines (Remember them?) to Aruba. Ah, Aruba in the 1980's. That's when the best steaks on the island were at either the French Steakhouse at Manchebo (That's where I stayed) or at it's sister hotel, the Talk of The Town. Bali, the floating Indonesian restaurant downtown and the notorious disco and nightclub, Scaramouche; (The one with the lipstick lips logo, remember?) So many changes over the years. But we still love place. And memories of Aruba you'd like to share? I'd love to here them. Glenn Winnipeg, Canada |

50th Anniversary January 16
Hello Glenn,
So you are an old timer just like my husband and I. We have been visiting Aruba several times a year going on 33 years. When we first started visiting Aruba, we stayed at the Divi Beach Resort before they had become an all inclusive resort. One of their restaurants was the Papagayo Restaurant which was in the spot that now is LG Smith Steak House. We loved that restaurant. Did you ever eat there? What we also remember was there was a lot less traffic then there is now. Most importantly, the warmth and helpfullness of the local residents has always remained the same. And yes, we remember the old Bali Restaurant in Oranjestad. Anyway, as soon as we have the exact location of our wedding vow renewal, I will post the information. |
