MrsDH, we stayed in a partial ocean view, room 1815, in the Plaza Club and it was very nice.
Physically, the Club is located immediately off the elevators on the 8th floor. It's not terribly big, but big enough to serve its purpose. From 7 - 11am, there is a complimentary breakfast consisting of hot drinks (coffee, tea, etc.), a variety of juices, yogurt, several cereal choices, a fruit platter, apples and bananas, numerous pastries, smoked salmon, cheeses and generally two hot dishes (pancakes, french toast, etc.). "Tea time" is in late afteroon...I would often grab a cup of coffee for myself and a cookie (or two!) for my toddler on our way to our room. Cocktail hour is at 5 and lasts until 7 pm. There's a self-serve bar with many different liquors, mixers, bottled beer (Heineken & Bud Light, I think), red and white wine, cordials, along with two hot appetizers and an several cold ones (cheeses, meats, pate). We'd stop by for a drink before heading to dinner. Lots of bottled water which we would take to the beach, too. There are two computers with internet access and printers which are available for use. The best part of the Club, though, are the women that manage it: Germaine, Alfroze and "The Queen." Very helpful and just lovely people. They couldn't have been nicer to me and my family. Congrats on your upcoming wedding. You're going to have a wonderful time! |
