I have been getting quite a bit of private mail regarding my book and what it is I meant or referred to on different stories. Some mail has come in and asked me to just explain the story a bit further or give my reasoning for writing it. Others have asked me how I went about writing it. If you are one of those that has the book and wants to ask questions, feel free to do so here and I will respond here on this thread only. No other web site will have this.

For those that are sending me private mail and messages and would rather keep it that way, that is OK, I will continue to answer those as well. I am honored.

The little boy in Fishing planks is a fictional character as is the story. It is based on somethings I saw as a child and other information or stories I have heard. It is actually not about the fishing, it is all about passage to manhood and the readiness to make that leap.

Gerry,, The story you eluded to in your e-mail is not true. It is fictional but there are some thin (very thin) threads of past experiences I had that I wove into it. thanks for the kind words.

No. It is not about my childhood. It is imaginary and about what I thought up as I wrote. Many times a story writes itself (sort of).

Yes, Luciano is a real person and the story in the book is what he told me. Do I feel it is true? In his mind it is so who am I to argue.
