The Old Windmill, the long-gone Spritzer and Furhrmann store, certain stones along the beach, anything to do with the old Aruba Caribbean Hotel. What a child remembers. Taps for the natural bridge.

    Aruba Mug of Good Memories

My family lived at the Aruba Caribbean Hotel (currently enjoying a spectacular remodelling from what I hear) from 1960 into '66.
I recently uncovered a collection of swizzle sticks from the hotel - an unusual number of them. I thought they'd make a fine mug, and they do.

It's a fun item to show off and unique to the world.

Here's to the "Little Dutch Isle, Caribbean Style"

Glad to be back, cpjones (and everyone else). The memories (and photographs, thankfully) have remained, in the interim.

JS, your wonderful photos gave a glimpse how Aruba looked like back then, in the 60s. So serene, peaceful, charming... just like I would have imagined "a little island in the Caribbean" would have looked liked. If there were a time machine, those would have the times I would have absolutely LOVED to visit Aruba!
