thank you so much for sharing.
i have directed my supervisors at the ATA office to check out this thread.
I am certain the ATA will love to see as many photos as you'd be willing to post.

again thank you so much for the stroll down memory lane

The Old Windmill, the long-gone Spritzer and Furhrmann store, certain stones along the beach, anything to do with the old Aruba Caribbean Hotel. What a child remembers. Taps for the natural bridge.

Thanks Andrea. I'll do my best to round up some choice images. I know my late parents thought of their time in Aruba pretty often.

Gosh what great history! Do you recall where in the hotel the bar was located?

Thanks for sharing those glamorous photos of the silver cigarette box, the bar and the casino. What a fantastic idea it was to create those collectibles. I didn't even know they existed. Love the way women looked back then, so chick and elegant, beautiful hairdo. And the men looked like gentlemen and so handsome.

By the way, the ATA may also want to see Jack Benny in Aruba my brief Jack Benny thread. There's a picture of Benny receiving an Aruba book from the ATA.

Yes. I forwarded that as well. Once I am back to my puter and off the iPhone I am going to try to merge the threads or do some housekeeping so that they are linked together.
Too frustrating to do on this phone.

On a phone?? No. That would not be much fun. I have a mountain of material on the hotel. So strange that it doesn't seem to exist anywhere else. I remember Oranjestad, and that looks oddly familiar still. Thanks for collating the material. I'll try to keep everything else in one thread.

Truthfully, I don't, as I was a child. I only remember being in certain rooms. But I believe the bar and Klopen Club (which was the circular building one sees in earlier photographs) was probably connected - so I'd have to say all of that was off to the side, in the low building, not the hotel tower.
