Unhappy 18+ Help

I am currently staying at the Occidental Resort, which by the way is very nice. However, there doesn't seem much to do. You see, I am 22 and I am NOT here with a wife. Seems like this island is pretty much just made for married couples. I even have my brother (17) and sister (18) as well as parents here. Both my brother and sister are not enjoying themselves either. I have not seen anyone my age at all except for venturing into the city and seeing some locals. Don't get me wrong, everyone is nice, but I would like to find someone in my age group and who speaks English.

What is there to do around here?

Dear bored at the occidental

take a walk up the beach to moombas
head out on the kunuku bus
find a beach volleyball game
the new irish pub near carlos and charlies has gotten some good reviews
sign up for a sail/snorkel with tranquillo or jolly pirates
even if you are not a drinker, visit the happy hours......loads of young twentysomethings!
movies downtown at the seaport mall cinema
you will not have to work hard at finding fun stuff to do
my son, now 21 has always had a blast on aruba (all of his good times did not involve booze) so it is possible to have a blast while sober.

good luck, and keep us posted

Thumbs up

>>> "Seems like this island is pretty much just made for married couples."
----- First year we came son and daughter were in there 20's and both single.
They had a ball. They met other singles even from other resorts, went to the casinos, went out to dinner themslves, ....
They even recommended to us the Driftwood restaurant that first year(1987).
Later years they even went on the KK Party Bus and had a ball. Both are now married and still come back a lot of years.

18+

Extra tip: Many college / university students from Holland working here as trainees - your age, speak English - meet at The Paddock at least twice a week, mostly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening.
Have fun!

Kukuu kunukoo, tattoo party boat, palm pleasure sunset cruise, moomba's beach party, black hog saloon BBQ bash (females get a free ride on a harley) jeep tour, baby beach snorkeling, jet skiing at palm beach or eagle too, buy a few drink(booze/cola) tickets at the front desk of divi aruba and watch entertainment at 9 pm every night (mon-sat) there and at the tamarijn resort. go to www.depalmonline.com for land/sea tours. do the atlantis submarine ride, atv tour, horse tour. your vacation is what you make it. the more you do, the more people you bump in to and the more you will be busy with them. Go to grammies bar for kareoke. sing and or watch and dance. let's go latin show at the crystal casino downtown mon-sat from 9 to 10:30. lots of fun!! bring camera and get your picture taken with the dancers after the show. go to carlos and charlies, mambo jambo's and iguana joe's downtown to meet people and have a coke or beer.
