1st time in Aruba

My husband and I are going to Aruba in July.I Want to thank everyone on this message board. All of the tips really helped with the planning of our trip.We moved to Illinois from Hawaii about a year ago and miss snorkeling like crazy!!!!! We have been snorkeling in Tahiti and all over Hawaii. What is the best snorkel cruise or sail? We also hoping to charter a half day boat for fishing. How is the Local Brewary?I have read that the local beer is great.Any tips on local favorites would be great!!! Thanks!!!

the MiDushi is a beautiful sailing and snorkeling ship.We did the three stop snorkeling trip right off of Palm Beach and absolutely loved it. It included a light lunch and open bar too. Lots of fun, music, and a wonderful crew. Don't miss it. Its definitely worth it.

Jolly Pirates snorkel trip is best. Balashi beer is the home town favorite, no free beer at the end of the tour though like the budweiser plants here.

Re: 1st time in Aruba

Hi Linda, We do"nt charter a boat to snorkel we found out there's realy no need to we take our own equipment and drive to the beach in my opinion the best place is the north end of the Island Arashi/Boca Catalina and at the inlet at Baby Beach to the south. can't help with fishing it's not my thing about the beer, Thats my thing and yes the Balashi is very good no it"s better than that it"s the elixor of God. also Amstel Bright is very good its very smooth with very little after taste but beware it's 5% alcohal and could creep up on you very fast trust me I"ve been there. Have a good trip I hope this helped

Re: 1st time in Aruba

I agree that Arashi and Boca Catalina are wonderful snorkel spots. During my first few trips to Aruba I use to always snorkel in these spots from a boat. The last few years, we've just rented a car. This way we can drive and stop where ever. Much better that way. You can take your time and enjoy. There are a few spots that you can pull over and make your way down the rocks to get in the water.
Also visit Baby Beach for great snorkeling. Make an afternoon of it & bring lunch since it takes a while to get there.
If you do decide to go with a group, I've always enjoyed Red Sail Sports or Pelican.
Have a great time.

The BEST snorkeling is at Mangel Halto. It would rival anyplace. the better known places do not compare in any way. It is slightly hared to find, but you can do it.

Re: 1st time in Aruba

Hello,
If you want the best snorkeling place in Aruba then you will love going to Palm Island. It is a short taxi ride from the major hotels and the entrance fee is $50 us.p/p. This includes a great buffet and unlimited drinks. We have been there three times and will go again on our next trip to Aruba in the fall.

ENJOY.

Re: 1st time in Aruba

I would also recommend the Mi Dushi for snorkeling. It's a great trip and a BEAUTIFUL boat. I have been going to Aruba for many many years and I still love to go on the Mi Dushi. The local beer is Balashi, I am not a beer drinker, but many americans do like it.

Re: 1st time in Aruba

Linda,

Did you want to commit suicide after you left Hawaii and went to Illinois? I think I would have.

Hawaii IS the best. Can't wait to go back.
