I just got here and see that there are two freighters off the coast that look like they have run aground. Does anyone know the story with them?

quite often there are container ships or tankers that are "waiting their turn"........especially on the weekends.
my guess is by monday they will have moved on.

a few years ago, my son did his semester at sea on a maersk container ship.
they sat about a mile offshore of their port of call for 2 days.
dear son was not very happy looking in and waiting.

Ships are sometimes also anchored off the coast in order for commercial divers to do hull checks and/or underwater repairs/maintenance.

I am surprised there were no men AWOL after having "accidentally" gone overboard.
