Is it me or does it seems like its getting more and more common for big waves on eagle beach? Last year on the day that I arrived I saw the biggest waves I have ever seen on Aruba. It took down 7 or 8 chici huts in front of the Costa Linda.

There is a large weather front west of Bermuda which is causing high swells all along the East coast of the U.S., throughout the Bahamas and on into the Caribbean, including Aruba.

    http://www.meteo.aw/marine.php
"A FRONTAL SYSTEM ON THE ATLANTIC CAN INFLUENCE ARUBA'S WATERS THE WEEK OF 11.
BE AVISED THAT FROM MAR 11-MAR 15 LONG PERIOD NORTHERLY SWELLS WILL INFLUENCE ARUBA.
DUE TO ARUBA'S BATHYMETRY SOME OF THESE SWELLS WILL REFRACT AND
MAKE THE SEAS NEAR THE HOTEL AREA CHOPPY FROM TIME TO TIME.
MOST IMPACTED AREA WILL BE LOW-RISE HOTEL AREA.

EXPECT SEA TRANSPARANCY TO DROP AND SOME BREAKERS MAINLY NEAR THE LOW-RISE AREA AND MALMOK AREA.
ON THE NORTHERN SHORES EXPECT ROUGH CONDITIONS WITH RIP CURRENT.
BREAKERS OF 3 TO 5 FEET ARE OBSERVED NEAR PUNTA BRABO AND LESS THAN 1 FEET NEAR HIGH-RISE."

We were on the island during these waves that lasted fully 6 days. Been there for big waves in the past however 2-3 days and they were gone.

Tamarijn beach benefited from the westerly wave action. Huge mounds of sand built up nearly The Bunker Bar and they brought a tractor w/front loader to level it out. Heard some guests complaining the walk to waters edge was too long.

Great to hear the Tam benefited from some extra beach, they seem to always have the opposite happen. As far as the long walk to the ocean, really???? Some people seem to always complain about something, too funny!!!!

Another interesting comment made after the waves had subsided; we were floating with our noodles when a recently checked-in guest came by. While we were chatting he comment, "Wow, did you see how much sand they trucked in by the Bunker Bar?" I replied, "We watched it happen. God has some amazingly large trucks!" He looked at me puzzled and I then said, "Big waves"
