3/22-4/2 TRIP REPORT!
Hi everyone! My family and i just returned from another GREATTT trip to aruba. no one wanted to leave =[. this year, we finally got to the natural pool, well worth the trip. just getting there was half the fun! we stayed at the hyatt for 3 nights and the playa linda for a week. it was great. we went to madame janettes, texas de brazil, que pasa, tomatoe charlies, and some other quick restraunts. they were all amazing! we did go to carlos and charlies as well. it was a fun atmosphere, but we were all sick the next day, but we were leaving that day so we were alright with it i guess. we did go snorkeling on malmok beach. we saw squid and starfish ad everything! it was perfect for going with a bunch of younger kids, and it was only a 5 minute drive from the highrise hotels if you go off the side of the road. on friday though, we had a major scare. we went jet skiing, which i have done many times in my life before. i know to ride conservatively and just have fun, and to hit the waves from the side, not head on. however, we saw a man and his son hit a wave head on and fly over the front of the jet ski. the kid was ok, but the man hit his ribs and was taken away on a stretcher given oxygen and in an ambulance. he must have collapsed his lung or had internal bleeding or something because we got an email from our friends who are still down there telling us that he died. he had 3 kids and a wife there, but i'm not sure what hotel they were staying at. that was one of the saddest news i could have gotten. i didn't know the family but witnessing the accident and the kid's reaction just tore me apart. they went on vacation with their father and left without him. it was just so sad. i wish the best for that family and hope that everyone that goes there has a fun, safe trip. we will for sure be back there next spring break!
